Ironhaven is a city run by its players. This page covers its districts, who runs them, and what you can fight over.

## The Districts

The map names 19 districts, joined by tunnels. Press **M** in game to see them all and where you are.

| District | What's there |
| - | - |
| Downtown | The fountain and the Main Hub, with the Quest Board, Perk Dealer, Cosmetics Vendor and Market Trader. Police and bank staff start here. |
| Gateway | A quiet corner between Downtown and the Beach, with six doors to own. |
| Residentials | Houses worth owning, and a cash machine on the street. |
| Industrial | Warehouses. Trashmen start their rounds here. |
| Beach | Sand, open water, and one of the doorways out of arrivals. |
| Slums | Small-time dealers and a cash machine. |
| Favela | Stacked housing, a long back corridor called the runway, and a nightclub. |
| The Hood | Gang territory. |
| Park | Tunnels from here reach Downtown, the Beach, the Slums and the Forest. |
| Forest | A nature preserve at the edge of the city. The Mines sit beside it. |
| Sewers | Tunnels under the city. The Sewer Dweller lives here, and burns on the surface. |
| Ocean | Open water and islands. Factorians work from here. |
| Chitin Key | A sandbar past the shelf. Antlions dig up around you on its sand. |
| Hotel | Rooms by the week. |
| Cinema | Still showing films. |
| The Bank | The vault and the cash machines. Only the Bank Manager can build here. |
| Police Department | Where the police work from. |
| Mines | Ore, and a man who teaches you to dig it. Nobody can hurt you here and wanted status doesn't follow you in. |
| Arrivals | Where you spawn. Nobody can hurt you and nothing can be built. |

## Taxes

The city takes tax from two things:

- **Your paycheck**, at the rate of the district you're standing in when it's paid.
- **Broker sales**, at the rate of the district the Broker is standing in.

The Mayor sets each rate within its range. These are the starting rates:

| District | Starting rate | Mayor's range |
| - | - | - |
| Downtown | 15% | 10% to 20% |
| Gateway | 10% | 5% to 15% |
| Residentials | 10% | 5% to 15% |
| Beach | 8% | 0% to 12% |
| Industrial | 5% | 0% to 10% |
| Slums | 5% | 0% to 8% |
| Favela | 0% | 0% to 5% |

The Hood, Park, Forest, Sewers and Ocean can't be taxed.

## The Mayor

There's one Mayor, and you need character level 5 to take the job. If someone already holds it, run against them at the Election Clerk. Standing costs £5,000, and an election needs at least two candidates.

As Mayor, you:

- Write up to 12 laws, each 10 to 100 characters long.
- Set the tax rate in each district.
- Call a lockdown, with at least 2 minutes between lockdowns.
- Make suspects wanted with `/wanted`.

The [government rules](https://justified.gg/rules/gmod/darkrp/government) say what a law can and can't do.

## The Police

These government jobs are open to everyone who meets the level:

| Job | You need |
| - | - |
| Police Officer | Level 5 |
| SWAT | Level 5, 1 hour of playtime, and a vote |
| SWAT Riot Control | Level 5, 1 hour of playtime, and a vote |
| FBI | Level 5, 1 hour of playtime, and a vote |
| SWAT Heavy | Level 5 and 1 hour of playtime |
| SWAT Shield | Level 5 and 1 hour of playtime |
| Overwatch | Level 5 and 1 hour of playtime |
| Undercover Agent | Level 5 and 1 hour of playtime |
| Bank Manager | Level 5 and 1 hour of playtime |
| Mayor's Wife | Level 5 and 1 hour of playtime |

Bulldozer, Cloaker, Juggernaut and S.H.I.E.L.D. Director need MVP. Ironclad and SWAT Medic need MVP+. See [ranks](https://justified.gg/ranks).

An arrest sends someone to the cells for 2 minutes. Each wanted star they had adds 45 seconds.

## Gangs and Turf

**Bloods and Crips are jobs.** Find them in F4 under Gangsters. Members and Lieutenants need level 3, and Lieutenants also need 1 hour of playtime. Each side has one Leader, voted in, at level 4 with 1 hour of playtime.

**Player gangs are separate.** Type `/gang`, or open the Gang tab in the Escape menu. Starting a gang costs £250,000. A new gang holds 4 members and 1 district. Gang upgrades raise that to 16 members and 3 districts.

### Taking a District

### Declare the Claim

Stand in the district, outdoors, and hold **G**. Choose **Claim** and the district's name. In the Sewers you can claim from underground.

### Fill the Bar

The capture bar fills over 2 minutes while your gang outnumbers everyone else standing there. More of you fills it faster. Your claim lapses after 10 minutes.

### Beat the Holders

On ground another gang holds, you need 2 more people there than everyone else. Each death on your side knocks 8 seconds off the bar.

If you die attacking, you can't help take that district for 5 minutes. After a failed attempt, your gang waits 15 minutes before it can claim the same district again. A district that has just changed hands is safe for 5 minutes.

### What Turf Pays

Each district pays its gang every 10 minutes, scaled by how active the gang is:

| District | Pays up to |
| - | - |
| Downtown | £40,000 |
| The Hood | £32,000 |
| Slums | £32,000 |
| Favela | £30,000 |
| Industrial | £26,000 |
| Residentials | £26,000 |
| Forest | £22,000 |
| Gateway | £22,000 |
| Park | £22,000 |
| Beach | £21,000 |
| Sewers | £19,000 |
| Ocean | £15,000 |

Every district also charges rent. Rent rises with each extra district you hold, and big districts charge more to a small gang. You only pay rent while someone in your gang is online.

### Monthly Seasons

A new season starts on the 1st of each month. Every district goes back to neutral. The month's top 10 gangs go on the record, ranked on captures and time held. Gang levels and treasuries carry over.

## Robbing the Bank

### Declare the Raid

You need a criminal or gangster job. Stand at the Bank, hold **G** and choose **Raid the bank**. At least 8 players must be online. Your raid lasts 10 minutes.

### Crack the Vault

The vault won't open until someone declares a raid and enough police are online.

### Take the Bags

You can carry 3 money bags at once, and they slow you down. If you die, you drop them.

### Clean the Money

Take the bags to Pruitt. He cleans heist money for a cut, and you agree the cut with him.

After you declare a raid, you can't declare another for 30 minutes. You declare a raid on the Police Department the same way.

## Hits

Look at a Hitman and press **E** to put a hit on someone. The lowest price is £1,000, and you can pay in cash or bits. Citizens and government jobs can't place hits. If the hit fails, you get your money back.

To work as a Hitman, you need level 4 and 1 hour of playtime.

## Your Weapons

Guns don't wear out. Lockpicks do, a little with every lock you pick. Some weapons from crates come with a kill counter that counts every player you kill with it.
