City Worker
City Worker (/cityworker) is a roaming job. You run the city, fix problems with the right tool, and get paid. The next call-out is waiting as soon as you finish.
Guide Accuracy
We keep this guide up to date, but specific values may change with server updates. Always check in-game for current figures.
How It Works
Become a City Worker
Select the City Worker job from the F4 menu.
Watch Your Call-Outs
You hold two call-outs at a time and can do either first. Each marker shows the task, its pay, the repair time and the distance. Markers stay on the edge of your screen when you look away.
Travel to the Location
Problems can be on streets, near buildings, or in the sewers. Middle-click while looking at a marker to set a map waypoint to it.
Select the Right Tool
Your job gives you one toolbelt. Press R to switch between wrench, pliers and shovel. The marker shows which tool you need.
Fix the Problem
Left-click the problem to start the repair. While it runs, skill checks pop up. Hit them to finish faster. Walk away to stop.
Get Paid
The money goes straight to your wallet, and a fresh call-out fills the empty slot.
Tools & Task Types
| Tool | Task |
|---|---|
| Wrench | Leaks, fire hydrants, ATM maintenance |
| Pliers | Electrical boxes |
| Shovel | Rubble |
The wrong tool does nothing. The marker shows the tool, so switch on the way.
Skill Checks
During a repair, a needle sweeps across a bar. Press E while it's in the zone to speed the repair up. Each tool also has its own minigame, such as digging, torquing a bolt, or matching a wire code on W, A, S and D. Miss and the repair just takes longer.
Task Payouts
Every marker shows its pay and repair time before you set off.
| Task | Base Pay | Repair Time |
|---|---|---|
| Rubble | £1,900 to £3,900 | 10 to 15 seconds |
| Fire Hydrant | £2,184 to £4,692 | 10 to 21 seconds |
| Leak | £2,340 to £4,160 | 10 to 19 seconds |
| Electrical | £5,010 to £6,570 | 23 to 30 seconds |
| ATM | £4,700 | 20 seconds |
On top of the base pay:
- Shift bonus: your pay grows over your first ten jobs of a shift and stays up until you leave the job
- Sewer pay: jobs in the sewers pay extra
- Priority call-outs: from level 6, some call-outs pay double if you start them in time
- Two-worker call-outs: when two City Workers are on, some jobs need you both there, and each of you gets paid
- Rare finds: now and then a repair turns up extra cash
Level Rewards
City Worker has 60 levels. Along the way you unlock work boots that make you faster, priority call-outs, a third call-out slot, a longer repair reach, closer call-outs, a wider skill-check zone, and at level 50 a bigger shift bonus.
Tips for Success
The marker shows the job and the tool. Switch before you get there.
Many tasks are underground, and they pay extra. Know how to get there quickly.
A clean repair finishes much faster than one where you ignore the checks.
You can look around and fight back. Walk off if the street goes bad.
Your shift bonus only resets when you leave the job or disconnect. Dying or taking a break doesn't cost you it.
