Once you have a pet, four things make it better: a held item, candy, a rarity upgrade from Kat and a skin. Zog sells the items, candy, potions and skins in Downtown. Kat upgrades rarity.

Held Items

A pet holds one item at a time. Summon the pet, then use the item from your inventory to give it. The item changes the pet's XP or stats.

The full table is for players signed in to the wiki. Each item's details and recipe are on its own page, e.g. Leather; search for an item by name to find it.

Replacing a held item costs a fee that depends on the old item's rarity. The old item comes back to you. The game asks you to use the new item again within 10 seconds to confirm.

Old item rarityFee
Common£1,500,000
Uncommon£2,100,000
Rare£2,900,000

Exp Boost items add XP from one skill (or all skills) while the pet holds them. Big Teeth, Iron Claws, Hardened Scales and Sharpened Claws add stats.

Carrot Candy

Candy gives your summoned pet a lump of XP at once. Each pet can eat 10 candies in its life. The three lower grades cost cash at Zog once you reach the Farming level shown.

Age-Up Potion

The Age-Up Potion grows your summoned pet up at least one age, whatever its level. Two make a Newborn an Adult. Eggs and Adult pets refuse it. Zog sells it for £2,500,000, and you get one free for each Taming level.

See Pets for the age levels.

Kat's Rarity Upgrades

Kat raises a pet's rarity for a fee and a wait. Hand the pet over and come back when it's done. Kat takes one pet at a time, and your pet is away for the whole wait.

  • You need to be at Kat to hand a pet over.
  • Your Taming level gates the rarity you can reach. Uncommon needs Taming 1, Rare 5, Epic 10 and Legendary 20.
  • Each Taming level takes 0.3% off her fees.
  • Eggs have to hatch first.
  • Some pets need an item on top of the cash, like Griffin Upgrade Stones or Walrus Plushies.
  • A Kat Flower takes a day off the wait. You can give her several. She sells them for 11 bits each.

How long each step takes and what it costs depends on the pet. These two are typical.

Common to Uncommon5 minutes, £720,0001 day, £1,200,000

Rare to Epic15 minutes, £1,500,0007 days, £8,100,000
Epic to Legendary30 minutes, £2,100,00012 days, £29,000,000

The Griffin Upgrade Stones drop from world bosses. The Walrus Plushies come from Deep Sea Diver artifacts.

Pet Skins

A skin changes how a pet looks and never changes its stats. Each skin belongs to one kind of pet. Summon that pet, then use the skin from your inventory. A skin is used up when you apply it, and applying another replaces it for good. The game asks you to confirm a replacement.

  • Zog sells a few skins for cash.
  • Apex creatures and Slayer bosses drop skins of their own.
  • The Season 1 pass has skins as rewards.

Tips

  • Put an Exp Boost on your pet before you start a long grind.
  • Do Kat upgrades when you're about to log off. The long ones take days.
  • Save candy for a pet you plan to keep, since you only get 10 per pet.
  • Don't fuss over skins until your pet is levelled. They don't change stats.

FAQ

Do I lose the held item if I swap pets?

No. The item stays on its pet. Convert the pet to an item and it comes back to you.

Can Kat upgrade two pets at once?

No. She takes one at a time. Collect the first one before you hand over another.

Does my pet lose its level at Kat?

No. It keeps its XP, and the level is worked out again on the new rarity's table.
