Your Character level is your account-wide level, from 1 to 60. Every job you work, every kill and every collection tier feeds it. Your level and XP show on your HUD, and the Escape menu Progress group has the rest.

Each job also has its own ladder. Those are covered on the Skills page.

How XP Works

Earn XP by playing. Working a job, killing players and filling collection tiers all pay Character XP.

Level up when your XP reaches the next total on the table below.

Collect the reward for that level: Bits, Shards, Unbox cases, kits and unlocks.

Where Character XP Comes From

SourceXP
Playtime5 XP every 10 minutes while you're online
Working a jobHalf of the XP you earn on that job's ladder also goes to your Character
Killing a player10 XP (the same victim pays you once every 5 minutes)
Collection tiers10 x the numeral you reach, see Collections
Reputation titles50, 100, 200 and 400 XP, see Reputation
Quests and chain stepsMany of them pay XP beside their cash, see Quests

XP Bonuses

These add together on top of the base XP.

BonusCharacter XPJob ladders
First hour of the day+50%+50%
VIP+10%+2% to +10%, depending on the job
VIP++13%+4% to +14%
MVP+16%+6% to +18%
MVP++20%+8% to +22%
Premium+24%+9% to +26%
Premium++30%+10% to +30%
  • The first-hour bonus covers your first hour of play time each day. If you log off early, the rest of that hour is still there when you come back the same day.
  • Rank bonuses don't stack with each other, you get the best one you hold. They pause while you're AFK.
  • Job ladders that pay slowly get the bigger bonus in each range.
  • A city blessing gives everyone online +10% XP for one hour. A player who has finished the Character ladder or prestiged can cast it from the interaction menu for £500,000, once a day, with at least 3 players online. Blessings need a 3 hour gap between them.

Kits

Character kits unlock at levels 5, 15, 25, 35, 45 and 55. Open the kit menu to claim one. Each kit has its own cooldown, and no paid rank is needed.

Jobs That Need a Level

Some jobs need a Character level, and some need a level on another ladder. The F4 menu shows what each job asks for before you take it. Police Officer, for example, needs Character level 5.

Prestige

At Character level 60 you can prestige, up to 10 times. A prestige costs money, sets your Character level back to the start and pays you cash and a new title. Open the Skills tab in the Escape menu and use Rebirth. You open it at Ambrose, the Perk Dealer, unless you hold MVP+ or Premium+.

FAQ

Do I lose job levels when I prestige?

No. Prestige only resets your Character level.

Does my XP stay if I switch jobs?

Yes. Every ladder is saved to your account.

Why can't I take a job?

Check the level it needs in the F4 menu. It may want a Character level or a level on another job's ladder.

Where do I see what a level gives?

Open the Skills tab in the Escape menu (at Ambrose, the Perk Dealer, unless you hold MVP+ or Premium+). Its job levels section lists every level on every ladder and what it gives.
