The Mayor runs Ironhaven. You can't pick the Mayor job from the job list. You win it by standing in an election at the Election Clerk. Only one Mayor holds the seat, and it needs Character level 5. The job pays £73,000 salary.
Winning the Election
Enter. Speak to the Election Clerk and pay the £5,000 candidate fee.
Wait for the countdown. Once 2 candidates have entered, voting opens 60 seconds later. The ballot holds up to 8.
Vote. Voting stays open for 45 seconds. Anyone can vote from the banner at the top of their screen or at the clerk. You get one vote, and candidates may vote for themselves.
Win. The candidate with the most votes becomes Mayor and the old Mayor goes back to Citizen. If nobody votes, nobody becomes Mayor.
You can withdraw before voting opens and get your fee back. After voting opens the fee is final. If candidates drop below 2 while the election waits, it's cancelled and the next person to enter restarts the countdown.
After an election finishes, nobody can start a new one for 60 minutes.
Dying doesn't cost you the job unless you die during an active police raid inside the Police Department district.
The Mayor's Desk
Use the Mayor's desk at the Police Department to open the city menu. Only the Mayor can. The tabs are Dashboard, Upgrades, Taxes, Catalog, Laws, Licenses, Officials, Civilians, Wanted, Warrant, Announcement, Lockdown and Statistics.
| Tab | What you do |
|---|---|
| Taxes | Set the tax rate for each district. Rates go back to default when you leave office. |
| Laws | Add and remove the city laws. Everyone sees a New law message from City Hall. |
| Wanted and Warrant | Make a player wanted with a reason and duration, clear it, and issue search warrants. |
| Licenses | Grant or revoke gun licenses. |

When a Mayor leaves office their upgrades, appointments and deposit and withdraw limits reset for the next Mayor, and the boards they bought are removed. The money in the vault stays.
The City Vault
The Mayor's vault at the Police Department holds the city's money. It starts with room for £250,000. Taxes from paychecks pay into it.
- Only the Mayor can deposit or withdraw, and only within about 9.5 metres of it.
- Each Mayor can deposit up to £5,000,000 and withdraw up to £50,000 during their term.
Robbing It
Only criminal jobs can rob the vault. Press E on it. You need:
- A Mayor online.
- At least 3 government players online.
- At least 10 players on the server.
- A Police Department raid declared first.
Stay alive for 3 minutes without leaving the area. If you die, disconnect or go too far, the robbery fails. After any attempt the vault has a 5 minute cooldown. A successful robbery pays you the whole balance straight into your wallet, plus 150 XP, and empties the vault. The alarm sounds for 30 seconds when it starts and police are told. Killing a robber pays £15,000 and 75 XP.
Tips
- Set district taxes before you spend from the vault. Taxes fill it.
- Buy a Wanted Board early so everyone sees who's wanted.
- Buy Capacity before you stack the vault high, so the money has room to sit.
