Justified is a Garry's Mod DarkRP server, and its city is Ironhaven. This page takes you from Steam to your first pay.

What You Need

  • Garry's Mod on Steam.
  • The 64-bit branch. 32-bit Garry's Mod runs out of memory on this server, and the join stalls or crashes.
  • The content pack. The game downloads the map and six content packs on your first join. If that's slow or stops, get them from the Workshop first.

Join the Server

Switch to 64-bit

In Steam, right-click Garry's Mod and open Properties. Go to Betas and pick x86-64. The 64-bit guide has screenshots and a way to check it worked.

Get the Content Pack

Open justified.gg/content and subscribe to the whole collection. Let Steam finish downloading it before you join.

Connect

Click Join through Steam. It starts Garry's Mod and connects you.

Or connect from the console. Turn it on under Options, Keyboard, Advanced... and tick Enable developer console. Open it with the backtick key, below Escape, and type:

connect 185.29.166.155

Wait for the Download

The first join takes longest. If the bar stops, disconnect and join again. Purple and black squares in game mean missing content: see Fix Missing Textures.

Stuck?

Your First Minutes

You spawn as a Citizen in the arrivals room. Nobody can hurt you there and nothing can be built. You come back to this room every time you respawn.

Mia stands by the doorways. Walk up to her and press E. She offers you two choices:

  • Get me started. She hands you one goal at a time, and every goal pays cash.
  • Skip, I know DarkRP. Every goal goes straight onto your tracker instead.

Her first goals get you working:

Take a Job

Press F4, open Jobs and take one. Not sure which? Trashman and City Worker, under Civilians, give you your tool when you join. Citizen doesn't count.

Claim Your Starter Gun

Press F4, open Kits and claim the Street Special. It's a free revolver, and you can claim it again every 30 minutes. More kits unlock as you level up.

Get Paid Once

Finish one paid task in your job. As a Trashman, collect trash and burn it. As a City Worker, fix a call-out. Your tracker shows what to do.

Go Back to Mia

Once you've left arrivals, she waits by the fountain in Downtown. Press E on her to finish.

After that she shows you the menus, the vendors, the Quest Board, a Broker and an ATM. Type /questhelp to see your current goal in chat.

Making Money

You start with £0. Mia's goals pay cash at every step, and these are the other early sources:

  • Mia's parcel. She gives you a parcel to sell. Press E on a Broker, choose Sell now and stay in the circle until it fills. Brokers move around, so follow the arrows on the floor.
  • Your job. Each job pays for its own work. The jobs guides cover how each one earns.
  • Your paycheck. It comes once an hour. Type /paycheck when chat says it's ready. Pay you don't claim is added to the next one.
  • The bank. Deposit at any ATM. Money in the bank can't drop when you die or be taken in a mugging. Cash in your pocket can.

Your paycheck needs a full hour online that session. If you changed job in the last 15 minutes when it's due, you miss that one.

Staying Safe Early

  • For your first 12 hours of playtime, nobody can raid, mug or kidnap you. You can still do all three to other players.
  • After that, someone can only mug or kidnap you once your wallet and bank add up to £150,000.
  • If another player kills you, you can't go back to that spot for 3 minutes. Citizens and Hobos don't have this limit.

Read the rules before you raid, mug or shoot anyone.

Link your Steam and Discord on the website, then type /link in game. Your first link gives you 3 days of MVP+. The verification guide walks you through it.
