Enchants are permanent bonuses on a gun, a knife or a Retro Miner's pickaxe. You pay for them in Experience levels at the Enchantment Table, which stands in the Library beside the Librarian. Eat a Booster Cookie and type /etable (or /et, or /enchant) to open the table from anywhere. The remote table shuts when you're in combat.
The table floats your weapon over a rune circle while it works, and everyone nearby can see it.
How It Works
Earn Experience levels. Kill the infected, mine ore as a Retro Miner, catch things as a Deep Sea Diver, or throw Experience Bottles.
Open the table. Put the gun, knife or pickaxe on it.
Pick an enchant and a level. The cost in Experience levels and the Enchanting level it needs are shown beside it.
Confirm. The levels come off your Experience and the enchant stays on the item for good.
An enchant that needs more Enchanting level than you have does nothing until you reach it.
Experience Levels
Experience is its own ladder, separate from your Character level. Spending it at the table lowers your Experience level.
| Source | Experience Points |
|---|---|
| Killing an infected | 5 |
| Killing an elite | 10 |
| Killing an Apex or Slayer boss | 25 |
| Hurting the world boss | 50 |
| Experience Bottle | 8 |
Retro Miners also get a few points for each ore they mine, and Deep Sea Divers get 1 to 6 for each find. Each Enchanting level adds 5% to Experience from any source.
Experience Bottles
Throw an Experience Bottle to get its Experience. The Librarian sells them for £14 each, up to 640 a day. Bigger bottles exist but only come from Experiments.
The full table is for players signed in to the wiki. Each item's details and recipe are on its own page, e.g. Leather; search for an item by name to find it.
The Enchanting Skill
Every level you spend at the table, on applying or removing, also earns Enchanting XP. Your Enchanting level unlocks the higher tiers of each enchant. You can earn up to 500,000 Enchanting XP a day from the table. Past that, the enchant still works and you just don't earn XP.
Every Enchant
Each enchant fits guns, knives, pickaxes or a mix of them. The table below lists every enchant with what each level does, what it costs in Experience levels and the Enchanting level it needs.
The full table is for players signed in to the wiki. Each item's details and recipe are on its own page, e.g. Leather; search for an item by name to find it.
Enchants that conflict replace each other. Putting one on removes the ones it conflicts with.
Most enchants work against creatures only. Sharpness, Power, Execute, Prosecute, Giant Killer, Snipe, Fire Aspect and Flame also work against players, and their combined bonus against players is capped.
Removing an Enchant
You can take an enchant off at the table. It costs the same Experience levels as putting that tier on, and you don't get a book back.
Enchanted Books
Some tiers are too high for the table. Those come as Enchanted Books, named like "Enchanted Book (Sharpness VII)". A book holds one enchant at one tier and doesn't stack.
The full table is for players signed in to the wiki. Each item's details and recipe are on its own page, e.g. Leather; search for an item by name to find it.
Open the Anvil tab of the Enchantment Table's window to use books. It does two jobs.
Combining Books
Put two books of the same tier together to make one of the next tier. It's free and earns no Enchanting XP. This only works below the table's own top tier for that enchant.
Applying a Book
Put an item and a book together.
- A higher tier than the item has costs the tier's Experience levels and earns Enchanting XP, the same as the table.
- The same tier as the item already has, if it's below the table's top, takes the item up one tier for free.
- A lower tier, or one the item is already past, is refused.
Conflicting enchants come off. The levels are spent first and handed back if the save fails.
Where Books Come From
- The Librarian sells tier I books: Sharpness for £14, Scavenger for £18, and Bane of Arthropods, Smite and Efficiency for £9 each.
- Slayer bosses drop books of their own enchants.
- Experiments pay books as prizes.
Experiments
The window's Experiments tab holds three memory games: Superpairs, Chronomatron and Ultrasequencer. They pay Enchanting XP, bottles and books. Each game has stakes that need a minimum Enchanting level.
You get one charge a day, used when you start Superpairs. It comes back 24 hours later. You can reset it up to three times a day, paying Experience levels and Bits.
| Reset | Experience Levels | Bits |
|---|---|---|
| First | 50 | 150 |
| Second | 100 | 300 |
| Third | 200 | 500 |
| Superpairs Stake | Enchanting Level | Cost in Levels |
|---|---|---|
| Beginner | 10 | 25 |
| High | 20 | 50 |
| Grand | 25 | 75 |
| Supreme | 30 | 100 |
| Transcendent | 40 | 200 |
| Metaphysical | 50 | 350 |
Experiments earn Enchanting XP without the table's daily limit.
Tips
- Experience Bottles from the Librarian are the quick way to top up levels before an enchant session.
- Check an enchant's Enchanting level before you pay. It does nothing if you're below it.
- Combine spare books of the same tier to reach a higher one.
FAQ
Can I enchant any weapon?
Guns, knives and the Retro Miner's pickaxe. A Lifetime store gun without mods is refused.
Do enchants work against players?
A few damage enchants do, and their bonus is capped. The rest only work against creatures.
I paid for an enchant and it doesn't do anything.
Your Enchanting level is below the one it needs. Raise it by spending levels at the table.
Can I remove an enchant I don't want?
Yes, at the table. It costs levels and gives nothing back.
Where is the Enchantment Table?
In the Library, next to the Librarian. A Booster Cookie opens it anywhere with /etable.
