September 30 Update
Escape menu tabs, the Bazaar, Skills, new sewer horrors and diver finds
September 30, 2026
A huge day: the Escape menu became a full hub, the Bazaar opened, the sewers got scarier and the Deep Sea Diver got a codex.
Escape Menu
- One hub: Jobs, Inventory, Players, Quests and Store now open inside the Escape menu. Press Q and E to cycle through the tabs.
- Roleplay: The old Jobs tab is now Roleplay. Hover it to jump straight to any F4 page. F4 opens the menu on the page you left it on.
- Jobs as a class screen: Pick a job from tall portrait cards that show your level in that job.
- Skills: A new Skills tab holds your perks, your current job's upgrades and your timed boosts. The Perk Dealer opens it too.
- Market: Browse the Marketplace from the Market tab anywhere. Buying and selling still needs the Market Trader.
- Away mode: Going AFK now switches the menu to an Away screen with your AFK XP, level and next title.
- Welcome back: Returning players land on a Play screen that points at something worth doing.
- Switch to 64-bit: Players on 32-bit get a card in the menu and one chat notice instead of a blocking window.
- Locked tabs: Tabs your tutorial hasn't unlocked yet show a padlock and say what opens them.
- Currency tips: Hover cash, bits or shards for what it is, how you earn it and what it buys. All three have new icons.
- Players tab: A sleeker scoreboard with the Justified wordmark, centred search and thin rows.
- Loading and spawn screens: Full-bleed art with a bottom progress strip, and the spawn screen matches it.
- Redesigned pages: F4, the Store, Kits, Ammo, Rules, Gangs, the ATM, the bank and most other menus share the new look. Buying something plays the cash sound and shows a message.
- Steam profiles: Clicking a player now opens their profile in the Steam overlay.
Market and Bazaar
- The Bazaar: A new part of the Market tab where materials trade by the unit. Post buy orders and sell offers, or use Buy now and Sell now.
- Sell all: Sells your materials in one go with one summary. Bram takes anything the buy orders can't.
- Sell a set amount: Shops let you pick how many to sell, with quick amounts and the total shown on the button.
- Bram buys more: Bram now pays for every material the Bazaar trades, and for Slayer tokens.
Sewers
- Layers: The sewers now have a starter top floor, the Inner Tunnels, the Lower Sewers and the Depths. Deeper floors are tougher and pay more.
- Creature levels: Each infected shows its level on its plate, coloured by how dangerous it is to you.
- Apex creatures: Named individuals now appear. Some run and dig out with treasure, and ten more fight with their own tricks. Each drops a trophy.
- Radiant creatures: A rare gold version of any creature, worth hunting.
- Stronger variants: Arcane, superior and advanced creatures show up in their rarity colour.
- The Listener: A blind hunter in the Depths that tracks sound. Go quiet to get past.
- The Shrouded: Wrapped in darkness and hard to hurt until you hold a flashlight on it.
- Nightstalkers: Fast pack creatures that come out during a sewer blackout. A flashlight makes them back off.
- The Shade: Its static now fills your screen as it gets closer.
- Weak rounds and cores: Every element has a counter round. Elemental creatures drop cores, and Bram turns them into that round.
- Bram's materials: He crafts Antitoxin, Adrenal Shots, Carapace Plating, Rot Bait and Chitin Charms from common drops.
- Kills and drops: Ordinary kills pay less cash and their drops sell for more.
- A bigger horde: The more you kill in a descent, the bigger the horde gets.
- Bestiary: Every element and affix pairing is a cell to find, with rewards for filling a family. Damage bonuses now come in clear steps, and the page tells you which level brings the next one. Creature Kills on the leaderboard counts real kills.
- Bosses: Bosses hit where you're going, move faster than you and fight with more abilities. Tier one Broodmother and Antlion Tyrant have more to do.
- Lancer: The Lancer's beam is shorter and weaker.
- Cleaner sewers: Corpses clear faster. Creatures that wander out of the sewers disappear after a while, and stay out of buildings, bases and the stairs out of the sewers.
- Props: The infected no longer knock down your props.
- Lightsaber: It can cut the infected again, with limits.
Slayer
- Tiers IV and V: Three tier IV bosses and the Atoned Horror. Higher tiers need a Bestiary level.
- Boss timer: Fights now have a time limit with a countdown on the boss bar.
- Slayer Rings: Bram sells three rings that boost your damage against a Slayer's families.
- Tokens: Minibosses pay tokens, and Bram buys tokens back.
- Fairer fights: The Brute's slam slows you instead of freezing you. The Gloom only darkens its target. Poison crabs from a boss now carry venom.
Jobs
- Weed Grower: Keep a plant watered, lit and cool for its whole grow and you can cut it in a short Prime window for a better harvest. Every strain also has its own mastery chain.
- Heroin Cook: Hold the oven heat to make a purer product. Hint cards over each machine tell you the next step.
- Opium Cook: Press E on the barrel to see the recipe and buy each measure. Heater and packer follow the same pattern.
- First sale quests: Heroin and opium cooks get a starter quest chain.
- City Worker: Fewer tickets in the sewers, and repairs need you to stay a little closer.
- Field Medkit: You can use it in combat.
Deep Sea Diver
- 50 finds: Every piece you pull up is now one of 50 finds, each with its own look, size and way to collect it.
- Codex: The buyer has a new Codex tab, or type /codex anywhere. Finds you haven't made show as ???. Discoveries pay diver XP.
- Hauls and requests: Huge hauls sit in the Trench to be cut free and towed to the buyer, who also keeps standing requests at a bonus.
- More rocks: More rocks spawn, spread across all depths.
- Worn suits: A suit that's falling apart drains air faster.
- Sea creatures: Their hits cost more air, and the Ichthyosaur charges more often.
- Wreck chests: Iron-bound and Captain's chests stay shut until the wreck's guards are dead.
AFK
- Hourly crates: Every hour of declared AFK drops a random crate. Higher AFK levels improve the odds, and the Away panel shows the prize pool and a countdown. There's a daily limit.
Store and Shops
- Gifts: Recipients can decline or say thanks, unanswered gifts go back to the sender, and senders can pick a gift box. You can turn gifts off. Waiting gifts show a badge on the Store tab.
- Your shop: One screen with a featured item beside today's shelves.
- Ranks: A side-by-side comparison of every rank.
- Titles: My titles shows rarity, with your character staged beside them.
- Kits: Shown as a loadout screen with real renders of each gun.
- George: Buys the drop pets.
- Pets: A higher rarity pet that replaces a lower one now hands the old one back to your inventory.
Quality of Life
- Weapon Slots: Drag weapons between slots and put them in order.
- Bulk ammo: Buy ammo in packs from F4 (x1, x10, x50 or Max), straight into your reserve.
- Quick Buy: The wheel is tidier and its list follows F4's categories.
- Loot boxes: You can walk through dropped loot boxes. E still opens them.
- XP gains: The +XP line shows on kills again.
- Level-ups: Chat now reads Level X to Level Y.
- Shadows: On by default, and your choice sticks.
- Kill notice: The big centre-screen kill notification is gone.
- Smoother frames: Smoother menus and loading screens, and a lighter diver HUD.
- Crash fix: Fixed an issue where 32-bit players could crash after visiting many Escape menu tabs.
