October 2 Update
Printer racks, a Blacksmith, accessories and bigger gang raids
October 2, 2026
A huge day: printers move into racks, a Blacksmith opens for business, accessories arrive, gang raids get serious and the Firework Factory gets a full overhaul.
Printers
- Printer Racks: Printers now live in racks only. Open a rack's screen to see income and activity, and collect from it whenever you like.
- Crashing Bays: Bays can crash now and then. Reboot a hung bay at the rack with a short game, and watch out for kernel panics that lock the rack's money until you fix it.
- Police Seizures: Officers can seize a rack. They get a progress bar and a toast, and a cancelled seizure tells them why it stopped.
- Bay Prices and Upgrades: Each extra bay costs more than the last,.
Blacksmith and Reforging
- The Blacksmith: A new NPC next to Bram with his own window. Pick a gun, drop it on the anvil and roll a new reforge. A reforge never repeats the one your gun already has.
- Reforge Stones: A whole new set of reforge stones, with a Reforging section on the Bazaar. Knives can take the sword reforges too.
- Blacksmith Reputation: Paid reforges and anvil work earn you standing with him.
- Knives: Knives now scale with their rarity and hit like proper melee weapons.
Accessories
- Accessory Bag: Open it from a Loadout slot. Accessories give you Accessory Power, and Thaumaturgy lets you tune the powers that come with it.
- Thirty-One New Accessories: Craft them from items you find and farm, and sell some back to Bram.
- New Drops: Zombies can drop Poisonous Potatoes, and Trashman finds include Feather and Paper.
Firework Factory
- Renamed: The firework machine is now the Firework Factory, with real part names.
- Parts and Repairs: Machine parts wear down and can be upgraded, overclocked and fitted by hand. Repairs use a wrench you swing round with the mouse.
- Maintenance Mode: Run a machine in maintenance when it breaks down, and listen for the breakdown alarm.
- Firework Types: Types unlock with your Firework Maker level and show up in boxes, pallets and at the Broker. Golden fireworks can now roll and sell for a lot.
- On-Screen Menu: The machine's menu now lives on its own screen, with tabs for Parts and Fireworks.
Gangs
- Gang Tab: The gang menu is now a tab in the Escape menu, with rebuilt Ranks, Turf and Settings pages. You can delete a rank you just made and add ranks above the join rank.
- Gang Raids: Raids run in rounds that only your gang can fight, with the countdown, round and kills on your zone banner. Allies can join in, and later rounds bring tougher infected.
- Gang XP and Goals: Playing together earns your gang XP, and HQ shows weekly gang goals.
- Smaller Gangs: Upgrades cost less, gangs start with a bigger vault, and gangs nobody has played in lately drop out of Find a Gang.
- Gang Map: Hovering a district on the map or in the list highlights all of it.
The Infected
- New Special Infected: The Gunner, Sniper, Hexer, Tankback and Stormcaller join the hunt, mostly on the lower floors.
- Elemental Reactions: Hit an infected with two elements and they react.
- Smarter Attacks: Special infected aim, warn and slow you in new ways, and each attack has its own warning sound.
- Walled In: The infected climb in through windows and dig under prop walls to reach you.
- Drops: Health packs, vials and ammo drop more freely, including from gang raid infected.
- Better Hit Zones: A point-blank shotgun blast now throws the infected back.
- Sewer Water: The sewer water colour is restored after an acid tide.
The Ocean
- Ocean Creatures: The sea has its own creatures now: Reef Shark, Shockjaw, Siren, Puffer, Gull and Wreck Barnacle.
Reputation and Markets
- NPC Reputation: Every NPC you trade with now tracks your standing, shown as a chip on their name tag. Key NPCs have a role line over their name.
- Fences: Each fence trade has one named contact, pays regulars a daily bonus and shows the market rate on your receipt.
- Bazaar Selling: Selling a big batch at the Bazaar is much faster.
- Marketplace: Sort listings by Seller, Qty, Price or Expires, and hover an item for its proper name.
- Bram's Shop: Rebuilt as a vendor, with search and aisles on the left and stock in rows.
Menus and HUD
- Progress Tab: Quests, Skills, Collections and the Bestiary now live under one Progress tab.
- District Discovery: Visiting a new district shows a "New District Discovered" title on the territory strip.
- Loose Drops: Drop any tradeable item on the ground. It's yours for a short while, then anyone can take it.
- Ammo in F4: Ammo boxes show as their gun, and the ammo for the gun in your hand stands out.
- Unbox: The reel teases near misses and goes by with the crate's best items.
- Broker Plates: Bigger and clearer from across the street.
Jobs and Economy
- Retro Miner: Bars step up with each ore, and the game names each ore's bar value when it unlocks.
- Industrial Chemist: Now limited to two cooking lines, the second at cook level 30.
- Firework Pay: Every firework type pays more.
- Lightsaber: Force Absorb drains faster and Force Heal grows with your Lightsaber level.
Performance
- Smoother Frames: Cheaper nameplates, machines, pets, vaults and printer racks.
